Airing Out Our Drawers: 50-ish Years of CalArts’ History and Creativity from the Library and Institute Archives is a multidisciplinary celebration of CalArts’ legacy of innovation. Selections from each of the CalArts Library’s major collections serve to represent the historical investments, radical pedagogies, and experimental artforms from each of the Institute’s six Schools. The Library is home to the Institute Archives, a robust Artists' Book collection, Special Collections, and many more unique resources that have the potential to meaningfully enrich creative practice. By examining our community’s history and artistry, we can find the means to deliberately imagine our future.
This Exhibition Catalog Zine was put together as a group effort by the CalArts Librarians and Library Staff. Flip through the pages to learn more about what treasures are held at the library and how to access them. Physical copies are available at the library Circulation Desk by request.
