Scheduling Non-Class Usage of the Bijou Theater

Contact the Film Service Manager, or Managing Librarian to schedule, confirm, or cancel reservations.

Faculty, students and staff may schedule The Bijou for:

  • Visiting artist or filmmaker screenings & presentations
  • Screening of their work
  • Special events or meetings for groups larger than 50
  • Alumni may schedule The Bijou for screening of their work

Scheduling Policy

  • All non-class usage is considered on an individual basis.
  • Advance payment is required.
  • Students must have a faculty member sponsor their screening.
  • Reservation confirmation depends on Bijou schedule, projectionist availability, Film Services approval, and payment.

Please Note: Individuals who schedule screenings that are not in-class face to face teaching take full responsibility for acquiring the appropriate permissions or license from the copyright owner.  Admission fees or donations cannot be charged.

Scheduling Procedure

(1)Contact the Film Services Manager and submit a Bijou Reservation form at least 2 weeks in advance.
(2) Fill out an Event Checklist, have Film Services Manager sign it, and return to the Mailroom.
(3) Pay:

  • Credit or debit card / cash / check
  • Take the approved Bijou Reservation form to the Cashier’s window. 
  • Cashier hours:  Mon – Fri:  9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm
  • Return the cashier’s receipt to Film Services Manager to confirm reservation.

Internal recharge

Contact your school or department accounting manager to submit the account activity code to the Film Services Manager.  Account activity code is required to confirm reservation.

Fee Policy for non-class usage

Notify the Film Services Manager one week in advance if the screening or event is canceled, or the use will be billed.

Fees may not be charged to schools or departments if projection system equipment, a projectionist, or supervision are not needed.

Class hours: $15/hr
Class hours are Mon – Thurs  9am – 10pm  Fri 9am – 7pm

After hours: $25/hr
After hours are weekends, hours after the last scheduled class of the weekday, and summer hours except for summer session classes.
