 Find Audio + Video

The CalArts Library holds an astounding collection of audiovisual works featuring hundreds of thousands of sound recordings and film/video recordings across both analog and digital formats.

The CalArts Library's sound collections include digital streaming content as well as physical formats such as CD, LP, and cassette tape.  Sound recordings can be discovered through the Library's catalog, and the Library's physical holdings of CDs and LPs (and even a few audio cassettes) can be browsed and borrowed for study / research, inspiration, a specific project or assignment, or simply for your listening pleasure.  You can also listen to physical copies of sound recordings in our Music Listening Area (located in the back of the Library), which includes cassette, LP, and CD players. Headphones and audio adapters are available at the Library's Circulation Desk.  For even more audio content, search and explore the range of streaming audio available to you through some of the Library's subscription databases and/or open access resources recommended on this page.

Similarly, you can search for film/video recordings within the Library's catalog and — depending on their format — either watch them in our Film Services viewing area or (sometimes) online (such as with the content you'll discover through the links below).
