Understanding You Search Results

The results will include all of the materials in the library that match your search. This means there could be sound recordings, films, or magazines in your results.

If you only want to see books, for example, on the left-hand side click the box next to "books."

When you find an item that interests you, click on the title to view the full record.

Reading the Catalog Record

The catalog record has all of the information about the book or item. This include author/title information, subjects, publishing info, etc. Sometimes it also includes the table of contents and a summary of the item.

If this is an item you want then you will need three pieces of information:

  1. Location: Where in the library the item is;
  2. Status: If the book is checked out or available;
  3. Call Number: Where on the shelf. Read the section Read Call Numbers; if you still need help, as a librarian!
