CalArts Library Online Teaching Toolkit

The CalArts Library Online Teaching Toolkit is meant to serve as a central information "hub" for CalArts faculty to consult when determining how to effectively use and maximize the CalArts Library's website, online catalog, and electronic resources for instruction.  Through its vast and rich digital collections and eResources, the CalArts Library provides online access to a world of information at no cost to you or your students.

For additional help navigating our digital collections and eResources (or if you have any other questions), use the blue “Questions?” button at the bottom of this page to speak with a librarian, or email libref@calarts.edu.

Instructional guidance within this Toolkit covers (or includes):

  • Using library resources from a copyright perspective
  • Resource lists and "pro tips" that clarify which resources are best for which métier and research area
  • Several, 3-to-5-minute-long instructional videos for you to use in asynchronous online teaching
  • How to utilize librarian expertise in a fully online environment
