What does "information" mean to you? In your creative practice, where does engagement with information fit in?
Information literacy is defined by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) as "the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning."
Everyone has information literacy skills but the process of creation and research often requires that we grow those skills over time so that as CalArtians you can more effectively find the information they need, critically evaluate that information, and integrate it meaningfully into creative/scholarly practice.
