Library Instruction

To request Library instruction, please complete the Library Instruction Request Form. 

CalArts librarians are available to provide in-person and virtual instruction designed develop students' information literacy and research skills. Instruction sessions can be tailored to align with course themes and topics to embed seamlessly into the curriculum. Librarians can also collaborate with faculty to create customized digital content and develop research-based assignments. 
 

Reach out to libref@calarts.edu, with any questions about integrating Library instruction into your course. You can also work directly with your discipline-specific liaison librarian to develop instructional activities.

Course Guides for Your Class

If you would like to work with a librarian to develop a course guide to support your students' research activities, contact your liaison librarian. Information that can be incorporated into the guide can include:

• Links to electronic resources such as databases, individual books in the library, and websites
• Guidelines for your research assignments
• Examples of good research topics, plus tips for students on how to develop and refine their own
• Other resources to support your class
