Subject Librarian Help

Did you know there is a CalArts Librarian that specializes in the resources and search strategies specific to each School and métier at CalArts? If you need in-depth help with your research or want some help getting started, schedule an appointment to meet with a librarian, using the scheduling tool below! Consultations are available virtually (via Zoom) or in person (on campus).

Research Help

On-Campus Assistance 

Drop-in Reference Help: the library has limited research help during the hours of 9-5, but making an appointment is highly encouraged. 


Research Consultation Appointments: If you need in-depth help with your research, schedule an appointment to meet with a librarian. We'll ask you for some basic information about your topic and issue to get started. At the consultation we will go over some possible resources with you and assist you with navigating the library tools, if appropriate. 

Off-campus Assistance

Ask a Librarian Form: If you have a question that is not immediate, please submit the Ask A Librarian Form

Contact a Librarian Chat: The library also has a live library chat option during regular business hours. You can ask questions, get information about resources, or start your research process through this tool. The chat is staffed by rotating shifts by the subject librarians. Simply click on the blue button on the bottom of the library webpage/s with "Questions? Contact a Librarian."
