Scheduling Policies
Computer Lab
Students and faculty are welcome to use the computers in the Lab when the lab is not scheduled. Use of computers is on a first-come first-served basis. All CalArts faculty and staff may reserve the Library Computer Lab for limited use, subject to availability.
Room capacity: 20-25 people based on room configuration
Scheduling semester-long classes
Faculty may request to reserve the use of the Library Computer Lab for a semester to teach a course. However, it is understood that should the room be needed for a library instruction session during the same day and time when the course meets, the faculty member teaching the course will need to make other arrangements for the class to meet at a different location. For this reason, semester-long reservations are strongly discouraged. At no time will more than three semester-long courses be allowed to reserve the Library Computer Lab.
Group Study Room
The dual purpose of the Library Group Study Room is for: a) the Writing Center to conduct instructional sessions and meetings, and b) for library users to meet in groups of two or more to work on class assignments or research. Students and faculty are welcome to use the Library Group Study Room when the room is not scheduled for a session or event. Use of the room is on a first-come first-served basis.
All CalArts students, faculty, and staff may reserve the Library Group Study Room for limited use, subject to availability. Library Group Study Room may not be reserved for semester-long classes. The room sits ten people comfortably and the furniture is modular.
Room capacity: 8-10 people based on room configuration
