Interlibrary Loan

Need a book or article not owned by CalArts?  We can usually get it for you from another library.  To request an item on Interlibrary Loan, search the CalArts Library Catalog to find the item and select the item to display the full record. If you have not already done so, log in to your Library account by clicking on the "Sign In" button on the top right. Then select the “Request Item through Interlibrary Loan” button.

You will be notified via email when the item arrives at the CalArts Library. Please note that we may not be able to fill your request due to availability and restrictions at our borrowing library sources. If we cannot accommodate your ILL request, please see a librarian for referral to other possible research sources.

All patrons are limited to five Interlibrary Loan requests per week. Alumni, visiting artists and other guest borrowers are not granted ILL privileges.

Interlibrary loan services are provided free of charge in almost all instances. We do need to return items to the lending libraries in a timely manner in order to maintain borrowing privileges. A late return fee of $1/day will be incurred if the item is late.
