Need help finding a book or other materials, researching sources for a paper or project, or just need a little guidance in the library? Our reference services are available to CalArts students, faculty, and staff as well as non-CalArts patrons.
Drop-in research help is available on a first-come, first-served basis, pending librarian availability.
Off-Campus Assistance:
You may contact an individual librarian if there is a specific subject area you need assistance with. From 9 am - 5 pm during the regular semester, you may get immediate assistance from a librarian by clicking on the blue “Questions?” button at the bottom of the library’s web pages. When using this feature after operating hours and during summer months, you will be directed to an email queue and a librarian will respond to your query as soon as possible.
Research Appointments: Did you know there is a CalArts Librarian that specializes in the resources and search strategies specific to each School and métier at CalArts? If you need in-depth help with your research or want some help getting started, schedule an appointment to meet with a librarian using the scheduling tool below! Consultations are available virtually (via Zoom) or in person (on campus).
