The CalArts Library employs approximately 85 students during the academic year as well as a smaller number in the summer. Student assistants work in all areas of the library during all hours the library is open including circulation, image services, film services, the Bijou, audio archives, the music collection, interlibrary loan and technical processing. Pay rates range from $10.00 to $16.00 and are commensurate upon the skill and experience required for the job.
Employment opportunities are available for both work-study and non-work-study students. Most students work an average of ten hours per week. Students working in public service areas often work nights and/or weekends. Students may not exceed 20 hours per week during the academic year and 39 hours per week during the summer. All positions are non-benefited.
Students awarded Federal Work study awards are given priority for open positions.

The Hub is the location of the CalArts Webadvisor and where you will enter hours worked on your electronic time card. Time cards must be completed and electronically submitted by all pay period deadlines in order for on time payment of wages.
