Library Student Employment

The CalArts Library employs approximately 85 students during the academic year as well as a smaller number in the summer. Student assistants work in all areas of the library during all hours the library is open including circulation, image services, film services, the Bijou, audio archives, the music collection, interlibrary loan and technical processing. Pay rates range from $10.00 to $16.00 and are commensurate upon the skill and experience required for the job.

Employment opportunities are available for both work-study and non-work-study students.  Most students work an average of ten hours per week. Students working in public service areas often work nights and/or weekends.  Students may not exceed 20 hours per week during the academic year and 39 hours per week during the summer.  All positions are non-benefited.

Students awarded Federal Work study awards are given priority for open positions.

Review the online job descriptions HERE or pick up an application at the circulation desk, and apply for positions that you are qualified for. All positions require a minimum commitment of four hours per week.
