Critical Studies Thesis/Work Sample Submission to the Library

Please adhere to these thesis/work sample submission procedures, completing the step(s) below, as necessary:

  • Submit an electronic copy of your thesis/work samples via this form on or before Friday, May 24, 2024, at 5:00 PM (U.S. Pacific Standard Time).

  • [optional, if desired] Submit a physical hardcopy of your thesis/work sample(s), either by a.) delivering your submission to the Library Circulation Desk, b.) scheduling an appointment with the Library's Thesis/Work Sample Submission Coordinator, or c.) mailing your hardcopy submission in an appropriately sized, durable envelope or box to the following address, postmarked no later than Friday, May 24, 2024:

If your submission is an original Artists' Book, or comprises a work that cannot be bound, you are still encouraged to submit a bindable description/representation of your work as part of your thesis project. The non-bindable work will go into the CalArts Library’s Artists' Book Collection for preservation, and the bound thesis/work sample(s) will serve as an access copy. Please see the appropriate Formatting + Printing guidelines (on the left-hand side menu of this page) for further details.

NOTE: If your documents/files are too large to submit electronically, you may submit your electronic copy on a CD/DVD or another appropriate media storage format. File-sharing services such as Google Drive or Dropbox are also encouraged, when/if possible. Email thesis@calarts.edu with questions.

NOTE: These files and templates are provided in “Portrait” orientation, by default.  Please change to “Landscape” orientation if this reflects how your material should be printed.
