Music Thesis/Work Sample Submission to the Library
Copies of ALL theses/work samples, in all formats (both electronic and physical), must be submitted or postmarked no later than the following:
Winter 2025 Deadline: Friday, December 19, 2025 by 5 p.m.
Spring 2026 Deadline: Friday, May 22, 2026 by 5 p.m.
Please email thesis@calarts.edu if there are any issues with the deadline.
Please adhere to these thesis/work sample submission procedures, completing the step(s) below:
Submit an electronic copy of your thesis/work samples:
If required by your school, please submit a physical hardcopy of your thesis/work sample(s), either by
a.) delivering your submission to the Library Circulation Desk
b.) scheduling an appointment with the Library's Thesis/Work Sample Submission Coordinator
c.) mailing your hardcopy submission in an appropriately sized, durable envelope or box to the following address:

If your submission is in a non-traditional format/comprises a work that cannot be bound, you are still encouraged to submit a written description of the work. Please reach out to thesis@calarts.edu to see about if the library has room and the ability to maintain the physical item if desired.

Please use these templates, as appropriate, when formatting + submitting your work (School of Music students who are submitting a formal written thesis or dissertation should use the DMA Thesis/Dissertation Template below and customize it as needed):
NOTE: These files and templates are provided in “Portrait” orientation, by default. Please change to “Landscape” orientation if this reflects how your score / material should be printed.
